Manila eSIM guide: NAIA arrival, Grab, maps and mobile data.
Manila is a place where data becomes useful immediately: airport terminal logistics, Grab, traffic-aware routes, hotel directions and messages. Installing a Philippines eSIM before the flight can make the first hour much simpler.
Arrive at NAIA with your hotel address, transfer plan and Philippines eSIM ready before city traffic enters the equation.
LOCAL CONNECTIVITY
Plan around the moments you will actually need data.
NAIA ARRIVALInstall before landing
Save the hotel address and first transfer route offline so arrival does not depend on buying a SIM at the airport.
GRAB + MAPSNavigation is the everyday data job
Ride-hailing, directions and location sharing keep the phone active across Metro Manila.
ISLAND CONNECTIONSManila may only be the gateway
If Cebu, Palawan or another island is next, keep ferry or flight details available offline before travel days.
CURRENT FIXED-DATA OPTIONS
What Philippines plans are available right now?
These cards read from the same current catalog used by the Philippines product page. Inventory can change, so use the product page for final checkout details.
Prepare the eSIM and hotel address before the flight.
Install on reliable Wi-Fi, save the activation details offline and keep the accommodation name, address and first airport route available without internet. This reduces the number of things you need to solve immediately after landing.
02
Grab, maps and traffic information are the core Manila use cases.
Ride-hailing, directions, food searches and messaging are frequent but usually lighter on data than video streaming. A connected phone is especially useful when changing terminals or meeting a driver.
03
A local phone number is not automatically part of a travel eSIM.
Many travel eSIMs are data-only. If a specific service requires Philippine SMS or a local number, check that requirement separately rather than assuming the eSIM provides it.
04
Pick the allowance around your media habits and the rest of the trip.
A short Manila stay can be modest on data, while frequent social video, day trips, hotspot use or a longer Philippines itinerary can justify moving from 5GB toward 10GB or more.
Use the Philippines product page for the live package details.
Plan inventory and supplier pricing can change. The Philippines destination page shows the current allowance, validity, network information, activation rule and checkout price for each available option.
The exact live product details stay on the destination page; these answers help with the planning decisions around them.
Do I need a special Manila eSIM?+
No. A travel eSIM for the Philippines is the relevant product; Manila is covered according to the exact Philippines plan and local network availability.
Should I install the eSIM before arriving at NAIA?+
Yes, installing before departure on reliable Wi-Fi is usually the lowest-friction option. Save the setup details and hotel address offline as a backup.
Can I use Grab with a travel eSIM in Manila?+
A working data eSIM can provide the internet connection Grab needs. Account verification, payment methods and local service availability are separate from the eSIM.
Is 5GB enough for a Manila trip?+
It can be for Grab, maps, messaging and normal browsing on a shorter trip. Heavy social video, hotspot use or longer travel may justify more.
Does the eSIM include a Philippine phone number?+
Do not assume so. Treat the plan as data-only unless the exact product explicitly says that calls, SMS or a phone number are included.
