How much eSIM data do you need for 14 days?

For two weeks, the right allowance depends far more on your habits than on the calendar. Our planning model puts light use around 3GB, everyday travel around 9GB, and heavy mobile use around 20GB. Treat those as starting estimates, not guarantees — video, hotspot use and cloud uploads can change the answer quickly.

Light≈ 3GB

Maps, messaging, bookings and regular Wi-Fi.

Everyday≈ 9GB

Normal browsing, social apps and some short-form video.

Heavy≈ 20GB

Frequent media, uploads, work calls or hotspot use.

Two-week estimator

Change the usage level, not the trip length.

This uses the same planning model as our Plan Finder and adds a small buffer. It is an estimate, not a promise of real-world consumption.

The safest way to choose for two weeks

Start with the activities you will actually do away from Wi-Fi. If you mainly navigate and message, a smaller fixed-data plan can be enough. If you use social video every day or work from your phone, the buffer matters much more than saving a few dollars on the smallest package.

Validity matters as much as gigabytes

A 10GB package is not useful for a 14-day trip if it expires after seven days. Always check both the data allowance and validity. Our Plan Finder scores both requirements rather than recommending a package on data size alone.

Unlimited is not automatically the best two-week plan

Unlimited can be convenient for heavy use, but fixed-data plans can be simpler and cheaper when your usage is predictable. Also check any fair-use, hotspot or speed conditions attached to an unlimited offer before comparing it with a fixed allowance.

FAQ

Short answers, before checkout.

Is 5GB enough for 14 days?+

It can be for a light traveler who uses Wi-Fi regularly and keeps video and large uploads off cellular. For everyday social and browsing use, it may feel tight.

Is 10GB enough for two weeks?+

For many everyday travelers, 10GB is a comfortable planning target. Heavy video, hotspot use, work calls or cloud uploads can require more.

Do I need unlimited data for 14 days?+

Not necessarily. Unlimited is most useful when your usage is difficult to predict or consistently heavy. A fixed-data plan can be enough when you know your habits.

What if my trip is 14 days but the plan is valid for 15 or 30 days?+

That is fine. Validity only needs to cover the trip. A longer-validity package can be a good fit if the data allowance and price work for you.
